Woohoo! Looking forward to seeing you all and getting down the serious business of Scamping. I'm tentatively planning to sail over from PT on Thursday afternoon. I'll be sort of in and out on Friday but am planning to join in the Crooza festivities as well. —Josh

Hi Scampers, It's time again to set a date for the 2018 Red Lantern Rally, a fun sailing gathering specifically for Scamp owners—typically held in July. Historically we've had every one of the events at Mystery Bay on Marrowstone Island, just across from Port Townsend. This has worked well as it's a...

Hi All, We're quite pleased with the MKII changes, but part of the decision to make them was that none of them fundamentally changes performance, the hull, or the rig. And most of the changes would be relatively easy to ignore if you prefer the original layout—bulkhead 4 will have a scribe line of t...

Hi All, We're working at building some SCAMP rigging and hardware kits for Scamp builders. Obviously there are a variety of ways to rig and outfit a Scamp, but these preliminary packages are based on some of the proven methods we've seen and employed and some we've not yet tested but expect will wor...

Hi Jeff, Yeah—I'm thinking a reschedule is in order. The Sucia Rendezvous falls on this same weekend and although tides are workable they aren't ideal. And I haven't had time to bang the drum at all, so I don't think we'll get the usual turnout. Ideally I'm hoping some other Scamper will take on the...

Hi Scott,

Hadn't see this post. Yes, that's a good representation of our standard. You're right, it's not really LOD, nor is it what some define as LOA, but this LOA drawing is good since it includes length at transom but doesn't include bowsprit length past hull.
