Hey Mike, You will LOVE the footwell. Sitting while sailing is way more comfortable. Sanding in it is also incredible. It also makes for a great foot hold when rowing. You can lay in a hammock with your bottom a bit in the foot well, Seat tops are perfect shelf hight. When in a tent on anchor the &q...

Dale snapped the shot as I was passing him, a RARE thing indeed! the skills to this epic surfing were learned during my downwind Standup Paddle Board sessions on the ripping Columbia River Gorge. Pick the roller you're going to surf, place yourself BEHIND the the first or second wave of the set. Ins...

It seems like you overlooked the outhaul adjustment. The balance lug sail can be shaped quite well with a dialed in outhaul and downhaul. In my experience It's not a "set it and forget about it" type thing. Pirate crew will fly past you if you're not adjusting your outhaul! (well, Dale and...

I wish I mounted mine an inch or two further aft than I did, I've hit my head on the veranda a couple times when I'm REALLY laying back.

Mine are placed on the deck puzzle scarf joint (kit boat).

Liberty 53 has sailed her bottom paint off (porch paint wasn't a good choice) So she's upside down about to get some love.

Here's a picture Dale took of some river surfing.

I used both! Epoxy on the outboard glue surface, and a ton of 5200 on the inboard glue surface. (then ended up moving away from water ballast and installing a piece of railroad for ballast).

Love the color! I've learned from Dale that controlling the amount of "Belly" in your sail pays huge dividends in light air. You'll need a track, or loop around the boom if you want perfect sail shape. You'll get it dialed in, it'll either be too many times hit in the head by the boom, or ...

Nice work!!!

What color is the hull?

an outhaul track will keep your boom out of the way and allow total control of sail shape.

Can't wait to see you sailing in the sound, Red lantern rally next year!?

YES! Sweet adventure! Maybe I can Speak for Pirate crew (Dale and Keith) and say we want to join you one of these summers. I've been frustrated on the oars before as well, bouncing back and forth on confused seas. It feels great once you get out of that situation. Good job swimming in those caves, y...
