Sounds like a good choice. What is your rational for the stainless?
I too always have two anchors ready to go -- a bruce and a delta. Both are oversized for extra insurance. Like you, I also have 6' of chain on my primary anchor, the delta. I want the chain for chafe resistance since on Lake Superior there are rocks and sunken logs.

Ahoy,
Got the stainless anchor as a gift for the ship! Put so much work into this little boat that I figured I’d get her a present of a shiny anchor. 11lb Bruce on my Compac 16 is galvanized and works great.

Thanks Mr. Jhippe! Your work is looking great. Is your shop heated, such that you can continue work over the winter? I am very pleased with my heater as it has proven itself to keep my garage at a good working temperature....at least to an outside temp of 10deg a couple days ago...
Today I got the third coat of epoxy on the hull, and I got the skegs on. That super big bead of white glue on the skegs is silica-thickened epoxy. Photo's below, and better detail on argobuilder.com.
We will be skiing soon, so looking forward to that...and then maple tree tapping....but as I close in on finishing the boat, I can't help but look forward to spring. I found a good deal on a trailer in Beaver Dam and drove up and got it this weekend.

Hey Jason, skegs look great.
As for my garage, I have a propane heater that I have not really used yet. I also have some smaller electric heaters and a 220v heater but not wired for 220v in garage.
I am contemplating closing in one stall of the garage with plastic to create a smaller space to heat. Will be playing around with different configurations with heater and space to see what I can rig up that will provide adequate heat and safety.

Helo Pawb,
For those of you in the Unol Daleithiau, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving Day!
Sanded skegs and applied the final large fillet to them. Then I faired and sanded the hull. That was a real bear, glad to be done with that. Now I am on to varnishing and painting, and also building a boarding ladder.
Have a Super Day!

Jason,
Oooooh, I love the look of that boarding ladder. Might you be able to provide more details and measurements? I will be installing a boarding strap, as invented by Howard, but I might like one of these in addition to the boarding strap.

Hi,
Here's the basic design of the boarding ladder and a few photos. More detail/steps/photos than I can post here, may be found at http://www.argobuilder.com/wooden-board ... -argo.html
The boarding ladder on my Compac 16 is 10" wide with rungs 10" apart vertically; I like that ladder, so the one I am building is similar in dimension.
