I am not an advocate of changing a designer's work. Usually think that one should find a design that suits, rather than modify.
Having said that, however - I sail in Florida. The veranda is a cool idea, but for 364 days of the year, we're concerned about getting airflow in, not keeping it out.
John, (and others)
What would be the structural effect of leaving the portion of the cabin/veranda aft of the mast off?
I love the SCAMP. But, I'd like to have a bit more seating room, open the cockpit up. In my mind it would resemble the Pearson Ensign, in miniature. Would it amount to building a Houdini, without having to ditch my SCAMP plans?
