Hey Howard, we're doing well, thanks!
We'll be off to the Sunny South in a couple weeks.
As soon as we're settled in I'm going to play around with this bulkhead 4 modification.
In sailing PUFFIN I've found myself wanting a spot for my water bottle. It always seems to land in the footwell! The improved bulkhead may provide the perfect spot.
Jason, you're doing a nice job of building. I like that little flat for the oarlock pad!

Thanks Rob! I'll take all the encouragement I can get as I push towards the finish line here.

Re: Upgrading SCAMP MKI Bulkhead 4 to MKII design
Hey Jason,
After playing around with cardboard patterns I borrowed your idea of narrowing the opening at the top by about 5". It makes sense and looks good too. I didn't bother with the rounded corners, but I did add 3/4" stiffeners down the edges to make better hand-holds.
Howard, your beveled-edge-and-thickened-epoxy approach worked like a charm. I'll have some clean-up to do tomorrow, but it'll look fine once it's sanded and painted.
I'll post photos at some point.
