Need recommendations for an effective antifouling bottom paint for the SCAMP. Mine will live in the water, so this is a practical necessity. Boat will be berthed in the Pacific Northwest (Port Townsend, WA).

Re: Anti-fouling bottom paint
I believe Christine has a nice write up about anti-fouling on her site. It was helpful when I made the decision about replacing the bottom paint on my Stuart Mariner.

Just chiming in --- I see Duckworks now sells Natural Marine Easy-On Bottom Wax and I was wondering if anyone has experience with this interesting product?

Re: Anti-fouling bottom paint
What waters will the boat be left in and for how long between haulouts?

Puget sound for a a month or two at a time I suspect.
I already have some ablative but was wondering about this wax in case I decided to swap it out.

Re: Anti-fouling bottom paint
PS is high fouling water. You want a good antifouling paint if in the water longer than 2-3 weeks - including the centerboard. A 'wax' product can't be used for extended periods. A 'wax' can't be used with antifouling paint.
I'm currently using with success Pettit Hydrocoat - a water based antifoul that is nice to use (not stinky) and easy cleanup.
Also have used Sea Hawk Cukote and Pettit ViViD (great selection of colors and can mix colors to make your own) with much success.
All the above are appropriate paints for trailerable boats.
