USCG Documentation

Post by SVLastTry »

Has anyone documented their SCAMP with the USCG and been issued a USCG vessel registration number. Since the USCG now uses a private firm to handle vessel registration it seems they only document vessels over 25 feet in length.

Anyone attempt to document their SCAMP?

SCAMP is way under the minimum size that the USCG will document -
A documented vessel is one that is registered by the Federal Government through the U. S. Coast Guard, rather than titled and numbered by a state. Pleasure vessels of 5 net tons and over (26 feet in length and up) may be documented, and commercial vessels 5 net tons and over must be documented.
