Scamp needs a new wooden mast

Post by Shackleton#268 »

I destroyed my tapered round section birdsmouth built mast in a boat launch-ramp accident.
So I need to find out if anyone is interested in building a new mast for Scamp #268, Shackleton.
I live in South Seattle so anyone in the Seattle, Tacoma, Port Townsend, Bellingham area who wants to give me a quote I would be happy to look it over.

Three suggestions -

Try reaching out on the Port Townsend Pocket Yachters Facebook group to see if someone would build one for you - https://www.facebook.com/groups/900591986701797/

Have you contacted Duckworks to see if they have a metal spar kit?

How about contacting Gig Harbor Boat Works? They have rigs as they build the fiberglass SCAMPs.

I'm in the same boat.* Wrecked my mast by driving under a tree after hauling her out of the water.

:/

I'm standing by on a quote for an aluminum mast from GHBW, but would likely prefer wood. Duckworks has no mast kits.

Did OP or anyone else find a person or place that might build one?

*See what I did there? :)
