A little more progress. Decks glued and screwed on now but not completed yet. Filling, sanding and glassing the foredeck yet to come.

I have a very cheeky question for the SCA peoples: I have access to a large CAD plotter/printer. Is there any chance of getting access to files so I can print out full-size templates of the components? PDF or STEP or etc? Bit of a big ask, I know, but if the answer is no I lose nothing, if yes I gain about two weeks progress.

Hi Bruce,
I understand that you ordered plans already printed on paper. I ordered them (#334) one week ago in .pdf format and received them as an e-mail attachment. I imported files in Corel Draw and printed them out to scale in order to build a paper model. Corel files (.cdr) can be used even for CNC routers so I think you could save even more time. Also I think (I did not try yet) that Autocad could import .pdf files.

Oooops, this message comes a bit late for you. Only after I clicked on "Submit" button I noticed the date of your message. Anyway, congratulations for the progress on your build and maybe the info I offered could be usefull for others

A quick progress report of romana's build. I'ts only four weeks to the third anniversary of when I first received my plans. I'm hoping to have something worth looking at by then.

Another quick video to show that it's starting to come together. Still lots to do to get the boat in a state where I can put her aside and work on rigging, foils, trailer and stuff, but it is looking quite boat-like now. This was taken in poor light conditions so it's grainy.

I have prepared Romana as best I can for the third birthday party, to be held on Saturday 10th October. Here's a quick video that shows how much got done in time and a bit of the bits that are still left to do.

Well done, Bruce! Romana is looking very sweet, and you're not far from splashing her!! a couple of fittings, lash that sail on, and you'll be good to go! (hmm… didn't notice a mast, are you just hiding it?)

Cheers,
Dale

Hi Dale,

The mast is that white-painted stick hanging on the side wall of the shed, in the opening of the vid and from time to time peeping into the corner :)
