Well, #197 made up her mind and let me know she wants to be known as "Puffin".
AND she wants a fancy eyeliner job around her port lights to match her name, as well as a stripey orange bow transom and rudder. She would also like oars with orange blades. I told her the orange details might have to be done in house paint and she said she didn't care.
Her hull will be off-white, and her decks and cuddy-top will be dark.

I told her she has the summer to think it over.

OMG! Pretty sure Puffin and Fat Bottom Girl are going to be best of friends!

And with a paint job like that she will be the biggest chick magnet ever! It will take you forever to get out of the parking lot!

Please keep Puffin convinced not to change her mind or paint job. I am with Marty on this one! She'll be awesome!

I have printed out some copies of ElHeffe's SCAMP coloring book pages to make sure this idea will really work. The eye-line detail is critical. I'm looking at photos of the real bird for reference.

Puffin is upside-down on saw-horses for the next few months while I'm up north.

Simeon has said that your scamp will whisper her name at some point, much like wavelets on the shore. In these final weeks, my baby is doing more than whispering, and at his point her working title will be changed from "Drips and Runs" to "Details".

Hi Will
Kindred spirit here, we are both in the detail trenches. Keep going!

O.K. Josh, enough with my silly working titles. I'm making it official. #299 is named "Scallywag". My younger son suggested it on father's day. I couldn't say no. Especially when I learned that it is a term of endearment among pirates. Please put it on the list. Thanks, --Will

Excellent! Out of the mouth of babes...

I do like how “Scallywag” slides out the mouth in a saucy manner! A very nice image conjures up of her sashaying around in a headstrong pursuit of pleasure.

Now if we can keep her out of the company of the current West Coast SCAMP pirate vessels Luna, Phoenix and Liberty 53 and their buccaneers, maybe the Pocket Yachter community can sleep easier when at anchor

"Scallywag"—very nice! Water ballast tank can be filled with rum if you prefer, though one needs to think about evaporation.
