Hello to all the people on this forum .
im a chemical truck driver tanker yanker. Who has just recently discovered small
boats ..and boat building.
i live right next to the truman lake here in missouri. Lived next to it since it was built.
been on it three times in my life. Now thats sad isent it?
Ha.
but for a 52 year old trucker ..i thought? Why not? Lets learn how to build a boat and
sail it.
Late in life i guess ...only wood project i can remember was a dog house my brothe and dad and i built in 64'
So assume i know knothing ...its true! !
Dunno? Why im so obsessive about building a scamp ' or even a jim michalak "blobster"
Anyhoo ..my pop is still getting around pretty good. Told me....how old are you? Better get with it... he means well...lol
all of my family many years ago worked for peabody coal. Me also as the "water boy" in the summers.
So thats why i go by peabody....and a good name for my boat? Ha.
I enjoy this forum alot.
peabody

Hello Peabody,
That's a real purdy piece of water you have there.
Should provide tons of enjoyment, 'secially with a shoal draft boat.

Have you ever considered basic sailing lessons?

Supposed to be pretty good and not too far from you.

I'm looking into classes myself.
The older I get the more I value strong fundamental skill sets.

And something to think about in the future;

Howard Rice is the small craft skills guru!
