The 16' twin-keel I've been restoring has a number of cam cleats made of canvas cotton cloth impregnated with a phenolic resin binder. They're faded, dry, and weathered from exposure but I want to save them and I am looking for a substance that might rejuvenate the material without compromising the integrity. Suggestions have been: Mineral Oil (petrolleum based), WD-40 (fish oil based!), and ArmorAll (?). Help, based on experience, would be appreciated.
