Is there a basic materials list available for SCAMP? I'm interested in particular in how much plywood is needed and in what thicknesses.
Thank you
Richard

For the kit, the nesting sheets indicate 4 sheets of 6mm plywood and 8 sheets of 9mm for the basic component pieces. The CNC process allows very close cutting tolerance so a non-kit builder would have to be very careful with their cutting. FYI, you end up with some 70 pieces, not including the building jig and foils.
This does not include the foils. For the kit centerboard and rudder we use two mirror halves of 18mm ply to end up with foils +/- 36mm before glassing. They could be cut from a single sheet of 18mm or even laminated from suitable stock such as red cedar.

Re: Materials list - How much plywood?
My list is:- 2 off 18mm, 2 off 12mm, 5 off 9mm and 5 off 6mm. Total 14 sheets. This was worded out by making paper 1:10 copies of the pieces and laying them out on scale 8'x4' sheets. Foils, the centerboard casing and the mast box are included. The cockpit sole comes from an 18mm sheet because 2 off 9mm is considerably more expensive than 1 off 18mm and it is easy to router the edge gully. The bottom is increased to 12mm for extra durability, as I am not proposing to use any grass cloth.
Hope this helps.
