Potter Expeditionary Force Heads West

After a couple of days R&R, Long Green, Old Geezer, Dan and the Unsung Trailer headed out at 8:35 this morning. His first scheduled stop is in Baton Rouge, where he'll try and link up with Mike Miller, intrepid captain of Half Pint. For those who have not seen Mike in action, he is a great guy, great entertainer, and master of close quarters manuevers with a Potter 15.

While on R&R, the Navy showed off an LCAC for him. I suppose they didn't want to be outdone by the Air Force, what with their guys jumping out of C-130's into the water and all. You'd think the Blue Angels would have been plenty.

Dan's R&R in Panama City took him to The Place for burgers, Joey's Oyster Bar for local color, oysters and beer, and Jenny's alibi for more local color and  beer. I'm sure he rested well.

The object Dan is holding is a package of Pam's blueberry muffins, right out of the oven. I wanted one, but that didn't work out, because of Long Green's remarkable acceleration. I'm guessing it is not Dan's first fast getaway.

Remarkable people and remarkable small boats make for amazing big adventures. This one is almost in the books, but there will be others.

See you at Cruiser Challenge.—Steve Haines
