Nice shot! Evidence that there's no reason anyone should be stuck eating granola bars just because they're on a small boat.

We're still learning this whole blog thing. Looks like many of the photos are coming in a little too large for proper viewing. If you can control such things, it appears that about 650 pixels wide is a good viewing size in this format. Thanks for your patience. —Eds
written by Harold Goldbrandsen, December 06, 2008
To fit within the blog’s horizontal limits 666 pixels appears to be the maximum size. The photo above of Denny Hyett in his Potter 19 off the coast of Mission Bay, CA is 666 pixels wide by 443 high.
If you are more comfortable with inches/resolution the image width is 9.25 inches at a resolution of 72 pixels per inch. 9.25 X 72 = 666.
Hope this helps,

well that was at 600 x 450 pixels ... I hate to blame the tool but a preview button would be a handy feature on this blog so we could try in private until getting it right.

Ok, so I succeeded in posting a picture. Now I have to reduce the size so it can be viewed. Anyone know what size would be best for viewing?
written by Joshua Colvin, December 11, 2008
Hi Carl,
Thanks for participating. See Howie's post above from December 6 for information about photo size. If you get a smaller version posted I can go back and delete your first attempt.
Best,
Josh

Michel, Our boat is a Sakonnet 23. It is a Joel White designed, Edey and Duff built double ended daysailor. I wrote an article about this boat in SCA several issues back (May/June 08). I enjoyed the photo of your boat as well. It is an interesting contrast to our day on the water. It appears that you are sailing in much cooler weather but enjoying the day as much as we did. Nice boats, good companions and some wind produces lots of smiles no matter where you sail.

Thanks Luke!
Yeah! I sail on the Saint-Laurent, in the Montreal region. We have a nice summer but the weather gets a little cooler as september goes. We just wear something warm and go sailing. I took out my boat from the water after the first week of October this year. We have a long off season. I will not sail untill half May.... This is the "great white north" ;-)

These two photos were taken last summer in the Pacific Northwest.
The first photo shows the early morning fog chasing me into Port Townsend Bay after a long night sail across the Straits of Juan de Fuca. The wind driven fog flowing up over the bluff was one of those beautiful sights that makes sailing so rewarding.
The second photo, taken later that same morning, shows my moorage at Fort Flagler. This relaxed setting was a pleasant contrast to the tense night-time sail among the commercial traffic that passes through the Straits.

Dave, I was intrigued by your photo showing a launching at Flagler. I always launch over at Boat Haven; however, I have wondered what it would be like to use the minimal ramp on Marrowstone. Do you sail there often?
