Dan, Ambassador from All The Usual Suspects, arrived Saturday morning, and  quickly won favors by presenting the natives with gifts. After fresh shrimp and oysters, Dan sailed BOB (Seaward Fox) in St. Andrews Bay under conditions which were at times "sporting." We should have reefed, but were too busy telling sea stories. As we tied up at the end of the trip, we repeated the ritual phrase: "Cheated Death Again."
 
Maybe we should have called it a day earlier, but were busy looking at pictures from the Cruiser Challenge. There were sea stories, too.
 
We'll watch the weather today, and Dan will decide when to head for his launch site in Carrabelle, a little under a hundred road miles east of here. There is no schedule set in stone, but plans are to be in Apalachicola for the Antique and Classic Boat Show next Saturday. I don't think Dan and Old Geezer are antiques just yet, but they are classics. Join us there if you can.  —SH
