We're pleased to offer the highest quality precision CNC kit for the Scamp design. Kit includes all plywood components (planks, bottom, bulkheads, seats, cabin, decks, etc.). Many pieces include notches or scribe lines and numbering to aid construction process. The basic kit also includes a pre-cut building jig.
Kits use precision jigsaw puzzle joints instead of labor-intensive scarfs, and the planks' variable bevels are pre-beveled so that they match-up perfectly right out of the kit.
We also offer additional Scamp component kits, including: a foils kit (rudder and centerboard as 18mm okoume halves), a beautiful class sail made by world-class sailmaker Neil Pryde, and watertight custom hatch kits from Russell Brown and Port Townsend Watercraft.

The soft, unstructured hats feature the new Small Craft Advisor "Classic" logo embroidered on the front. One size fits most, with adjustable brass buckle. Available in four colors: Storm Grey, Shallow Water Blue, Sea Grass Green, and Burgandy Sunset. $14.95
We just recently learned about these so-called Smart Bottles—stout, puncture-resistant, double-walled plastic (BPA free) bottles that hold up to a gallon of liquid but can be rolled down to almost nothing when empty. They also feature grommets for hanging or securing in place, and integral handles and a screw cap spout for easy pouring. We can think of all kinds of potential uses for them on small boats—from water storage to showering, drinkable water ballast, etc. The manufacturer tested their Smart Bottles in a drop test from various heights. The 1-gal survived a 15 ft drop. Small-boat adventurer Howard Rice saw their utility at once and will be carrying six Smart Bottles on his voyage to Tierra del Fuego in his SCAMP.
Yet another addition to Spyderco’s non-rusting Salt Series knife line, the C118 Saver Salt. The blades found on all Salt Series models are made with an alloy called H-1. H-1 is non-rusting premium-performance steel that’s raising interest in fishing, boating and diving circles. Why? Because it cuts for extended amounts of time before needing sharpening and it can’t rust. H-1's edge retention compares to other high carbon knife steels but its most distinguishable characteristic is that its nitrogen based as opposed to carbon based. Carbon is the instigator in creating rust when it reacts to chloride. It’s also what makes a blade hard and stay sharp. Nitrogen also makes steel hard and edge retentive but it doesn’t react with chloride, so it cannot rust. Saver Salt’s Sheepfoot blade is rounded at the tip for cutting around inflatable watercraft, flesh and in emergencies. No pointed tip means no accidental puncturing. The blade is flat-saber-ground for cutting excellence in and out of water. The oversized 14mm Spyderco Round Hole works for opening/ closing even if hands are gloved, cold or wet. Available in marine yellow, the fiberglass reinforced nylon resin the handle comes textured with a grip-sticking waffle pattern. An ambidextrous tip-up pocket clip also houses a lanyard hole for a variety of carry possibilities. Please note that the clip on this knife is black.
