Forum: SCAMP   Topic: Questions regarding fiber-glassing the centerboard?

I am getting ready to bite the bullet and fiberglass the centerboard. The plan is to glass each side wrapping the glass around the leading edge, as shown on build blogs, but not worry about the square edges of the head. I have been trying to educate myself by reading anything I can find about the pr...

Just saw this on YouTube. Sorry about dredging up old posts but this reminded me of your marina's weed issues. The machines at about 2 minutes into the video would be very useful, in your old marina and several more that I know of in Wisconsin, were the harbor is nearly overgrown with weed. https://...

I will have to go look up the latest issue of SCA to read the article. I found a bunch of different articles about this, a large number of the ones of those use the fore-stay to pull up the mast. I do not touch the side stays other than to make sure they are not tangled. I loosen the back stay as mu...

I need to keep her in the water because I cannot raise and lower the mast by myself and can't depend on finding kind souls to help me at the ramp. I assume the Lustyslogger has a pivoting mast step. If not please disregard the following. I used to have the same issue on my 19' Stuart Mariner. Until...

Best of Luck in your endeavor, which ever way it goes.

I am not an expert on the subject and have never used a pedal drive. There are several of different commercial options that use a propeller, such as the Sea Cycle and H2Pro. There is also the Hobie MirageDrive that use fins. Also I believe there was a topic about these types of drive in this forum e...

Hello Jerry, I am still in the pre-assembly stage of my build. But I believe Brent has implemented something of this nature on Hagoth. His blog https://buildinghagoth.wordpress.com/ has a number of very interesting modifications. Some of which are above my skill level, but others I hope to shameless...

I believe the Kits have rabbits, grooves, tabs and slots not shown on the plans to facilitate more accurate assembly. If your building from plans as I am then the better references are the blogs from plans builders. Christine Demerchant https://www.christinedemerchant.com/scamp-sailboat.html has a l...

Forum: SCAMP   Topic: PT Watercraft hatches no longer available? Is this true?

I believe there is Link problem on their page. The hatches link from the builders center page still works.

But there is a note on Hatches and Hardware page which state PT watercraft no-longer makes hatches for the Scamp and provides a link to Small Craft Advisor.
