Hi, impressed by this guy’s way of life… Well, USA vaste country and numerous rivers sure holds room for such a living, and I envy you, being a french citizen. I canoe an Oldtown Discovery 158 in southern french rivers, sometimes in rough waters that some kayaks riders would not challenge… with the permanent risk of capsizing, with 2 days supplies on board. Therefore I’m surprised that Michael doesn’t seem to secure his goods with ropes on his canoe. I once lost a very valuable bottle of Cognac when capsizing on a small rock, and it sure served as a lesson! Now every item on board is always secured with ropes or string.
Oh, … how I would love to paddle your country… ! Enjoy your luck, happy man, and make me dream!!!

I’m planning something similar. Here in Florida. Being a kayak fisherman for many years. I think back on some of the happiest times and freedom of adventure. Thing we in this modern age forget about at times. It s made me rethink my situation and deciding on getting a 17 foot canoe maybe aluminum or polyethelene. Adding outrigger stabilizers and a deck of sorts and a couple of maximum size igloo coolers for storage and let the adventure begin. I admire this man and his lifestyle.
